A Chef's ScrapbookI'm Roland Petrov, traveler, chef, and cookbook author. I was born in England of German parents, and I attended junior high in Ethiopia and high school in Lebanon. I went to college in the United States, and I am now retired in the desert of Southern California.
The main point of this site is that it's my chef's scrapbook. This is where I blog about all the noteworthy dishes and drinks I come across in restaurants (and sometimes private homes), in locations I visit or live in, that do not otherwise fit into any specific project. All of the photographs are taken by me, including the one of my shadow on the wall of my house. There is a list of categories on the right side of the blog page (at the bottom of the most recent postings if you're using a smartphone). Click on any category to see all of the blogs the category contains. There are comment buttons above and below each blog post. My hope is that visitors will leave related food experiences of their own. Below are three photos to whet your appetite. Each of these has its own blog posting. I guarantee there will be something interesting for virtually any foodie out there. The home page food photo above shows a particularly colorful assortment of sushi as served to be at Domo in Desert Hot Springs. |
