My Books
My first book, published in 2016, is Delectable Dishes of Panamanian Cuisine. This cookbook is unique in that I documented the most delectable dishes I encountered in the mostly budget friendly restaurants I frequented during my numerous lengthy trips through Panama, and I then recreated the dishes, over a period of years, at home on Whidbey Island and in the desert of Southern California. A majority of the recipes come with a color photo of the dish as served to me in Panama. This book is available from lulu.com.
The title of my second cookbook, published in 2017, is Coachella Desert Cuisine. I live in the Coachella Valley of Southern California, and for my new book I have documented and photographed desert inspired dishes at local restaurants, and I've developed desert inspired dishes of my own. Among other things, you will learn how to pickle dates. Yum! This book is also available at lulu.com.

My third book, West Coast 101, a culinary road trip, is now live on Lulu.com. Upon retirement, I drove the entire length of highway 101 on the west coast of the United States and documented local specialties, farm to table fare, fresh seafood, and artisan products, as well as beautiful scenery. My journey began at the oldest kitchen in Los Angeles and ended at a death themed coffee bar in Olympia, capital of Washington state. You're invited along for the ride.
