This fettuccine dish comes with corn, pico de gallo (a tomato based salsa), queso fresco (Mexican fresh crumbled cheese), elote cream sauce (elote is corn), and spinach (not on the menu but a nice touch). You can have this dish by itself (vegetarian) or with chicken, shrimp, crawfish, or salmon; I chose crawfish. The corn kernels were sweet, crunchy, and tender. The fettuccine looked artisanal; it was cut wider than commercial ones. There was a lot of crawfish flavor, and the dish came with two lime wedges for squeezing. Given the ingredients, this dish seems to be the pasta version of Mexican street corn; it's Italian Mexican fusion. This restaurant, which stared out as an ice creamery, has wood rafters and brick walls. The ice creamery itself is now across the street.

This unique fast food fusion place, which also serves beer, wine, and canned cocktails, was started by a Honduran woman and her Indian husband, and the food reflects both heritages. There are a lot of savory pastries to choose from as well as tamales, dossas, side dishes, and sauces. For my Bombo Combo I chose a spinach and feta cheese empanada, and for my two sides I chose Honduran Cabbage and Mango Jicama Salad. For my sauces, I picked Mint Chutney and Cilantro Lime. The pastry seemed more Greek than anything but it also contained slices of chewy dried tomato. The photo shows the pastry with the top off. The Honduran cabbage was cole slaw with lime dressing, and it contained chopped tomato, green onion, and finely chopped cilantro. The Mango Jicama salad was also dressed with a lime dressing and contained finely chopped cilantro as well as green and red bell pepper slices. The mango was slightly under ripe but still provided some sweetness, and the jicama slices provided crunch. The mint chutney was hot and sour, and the cilantro lime was sour and sweet. It was an excellent lunch. I went back a few days later with my brother and had another Bombo Combo, but this time I chose an Indian style dossa filled with peas, corn, paneer cheese, and a tomato chili sauce, along with Basmati rice flavored with cumin seeds, and some soupy curry lentils. For my sauce I chose Tikka Masala (spicy tomato with cream). It was a completely differed combo to my first one, and many other different combos are available for you to create. This fusion of Bombay and Olé is a “must go to” if you're ever in Tucson.
