I've always wanted to try haggis, that Scotch delicacy of sheep organs and oats boiled inside a sheep's stomach, but Scotland is a long way from where I live; therefore, I went onto Amazon and ordered me some haggis in a can. My can of Grant's Premium Haggis, from Ayrshire in Scotland, arrived recently, and tonight I and my brother sampled it. The ingredients, all natural and good, are lamb lobes (45%), oatmeal (19%), and the rest is water, suet (beef fat), onion, salt, and spices. When I opened the can, the aroma was incredibly savory with a hint of sweet spice. The haggis was soft and moist, and I used the serving suggestion on the label and made mashed potato to go with it; I also added some steamed broccoli for a well rounded meal. While I may not go crazy for haggis, I'm glad I tried it, and I won't hesitate to try the real thing in a restaurant should I ever end up in Scotland.
